WOMAN&HOME MAGAZINE PARTNERS THE QUALITY FOOD AWARDS

August 1, 2008

Woman&Home Q Awards The Quality Food Awards has teamed up with woman&home, the glossy monthly magazine for women aged 40-plus, as the exclusive consumer media partner for the 2008 Q awards.

Now in their 29th year The Quality Food Awards are the most prestigious awards for food and drink products on sale in the UK rewarding the best in food and drink flavours, textures and aromas. Recognised by food retailers and producers all across the UK as the pre-eminent independent judge of quality food, the competition to win Q Awards and Q marks is intense. The Quality Food Awards exists solely to recognise the hard work of quality food producers and to help consumers recognise products that are of exceptional quality when faced with the bewildering choice on supermarket shelves.

The partnership will see woman&home covering the Q Awards editorially in the magazine, as well as on its website, www.womanandhome.com.

woman&home's editorial director, food editor and other woman&home experts will be part of the judging process. The magazine will also present a reader voted award, which will reward quality service.

Together, the two partners will help raise the value and importance of quality in food production in the UK.

Linda Swidenbank, woman&home publishing director, says: “At woman&home we are passionate about food and we know our readers really value good quality ingredients above everything else. The Q Awards are very well regarded, providing consumers with guidance on excellence in food and drink, so this partnership makes perfect sense for us.”

Helen Lyons from the Quality Food Awards added: “We are thrilled that woman&home will be our exclusive media partner. This is a very exciting development for the awards and we look forward to a long partnership. The passion for food which runs through both the Quality Food Awards and woman&home makes this a perfect synergy. The magazine gives the awards a platform to help the public find out more about the genuine quality food products that are on the shelves.”

About the Q Awards
Now in their 29th year, the Quality Food Awards reward excellence in food and drink flavours, textures and aromas. They are the most prestigious award for food and drink products on sale in UK grocery retail outlets and are open to both branded and own label products. Winners of the 2008 Awards will be announced at a gala ceremony at Battersea Evolution on 27 November.

Entries to the Quality Food Awards are subjected to an intensive and entirely independent judging process across 28 product categories. The judging process is focused entirely on the quality of food, it's presentation and value-for-money. The Quality Food Awards exists solely to recognise the hard work of quality food producers and to help consumers recognise products that are of exceptional quality when faced with the bewildering choice on supermarket shelves. In each category, entries which are recognised as being of superior quality are awarded a “Q Mark”. Recognised by food retailers and producers across the whole of the UK as the pre-eminent independent judge of quality food, the competition to win awards and Q marks is intense. Each year, at the annual awards show in November, one product is awarded the “Gold Q” - which recognises outstanding quality across all categories.
